The company Idem explores the theme of darkness through dance. “It’s too Dark” is the new work in a six-year collaboration with the Theater Benno Besson (Switzerland) and a two-year partnership with the Friedrichshafen Cultural Office (Germany). With “It’s too Dark” Clément Bugnon and Matthias Kass present a double bill dance evening, characterized by contrasts and similarities. The two choreographers develop the main theme of the mysterious, fascinating and frightening invisible, which takes place hidden in the dark, independently of each other. Together, these two dance pieces evoke powerful themes that resonate deeply with audiences. “Blackout” invites an introspective examination of personal darkness, while “Obscurantismo” challenges perceptions surrounding information and truth. Both performances, with their rich choreography and thoughtful imagery, showcase dance’s distinctive ability to communicate profound concepts and emotional complexities, leaving viewers with a lasting impression of the beauty and struggles within the human experience.
